Final task.

Textual analysis.

 The camera starts of at an extreme close up,this hide the identity of the main character, next the camera cuts and focuses on the man looking at a set of keys then it pans upward to the roof revealing a empty room. It continues revealing the room where the man is by cutting and focusing on what his hands are doing. This reveals little clues to the audience so they can come up with an idea of who this man is and why is he in the room. An example of a clue is the writing on this hand that reminds him to remember a person then the notes round the house and his tattooed torso with notes and hand drawn diagram on also give the audience ideas about this man's personality. All these shots canotes that the man has trouble remembering or has been in an accident of some sort which has affected him mentally.

The sound throughout the two minutes is non diegetic such as a clock ticketing and music getting fussy and loud, this connotes that time has passed and shows that hes not functioning properly  ( music not being one level and being fussy and a bit jumpy.) However there is some dialog throughout its very clear and calm and well spoken and talks in third person this give the audience the idea that the person talking is telling someone about then man in the film, which may mean hes died or is unwell.

The mis-en-scene in this clip is very mysterious and has a sense of danger, the audience will get this feeling from the bare run down plain apartment. For example the rusty empty coat hangers and the cracked plaster walls.This gives the audience the thought that the man living there has a don't care attitude or is unable to look after himself. Also having a the clip in black and white also connotes mystery because the muted colours reveal less about the mans room and also make him seem like a boring dull person.When the man sits on the bed its shows the proxemics of the room which makes him appear small and hes far away from everything (except what hes sat on), so this could represent how small and weak he feels and how far away he is from fitting in within society.

The editing in this clip are very quite cut and sharper where it shows the man looking through the draw at his keys and at the coat hanger.The non continuity system is used to reinforce the mystery and danger them by doing random cuts and long takes which give the audience the idea that the man is unstable, just like the editing.

Location Shots

Here is two pictures of where my group are planning to video our 'flash back' scene. It fits in very well with  our original idea of filming in a hallway, so a school corridor after schools finished will be the perfect setting. Also comparing this location to our story board, you can see its quite similar to the location we originally wanted to film in.

Phone call script.

Lauren: Hello Steven, Steven, its urgent, are you awake? It's Caroline, I know its late but we need you, call me back when yo... [gets cut off as Steven answers]

Jordan: Hello, who is this?

Lauren: Its Caroline

[Flashbacks onto number 6 of storyboard]

At the end of the storyboard 6, Lauren voice overs..

Lauren: Steven? You there Steven?

[Comes back into reality]

Jordan: Yeah, I'm here. What do you want?

Lauren: I know you've retired and after the last time, you swore you were done, but this is important.

[Flashback of 7&8 from the storyboard]

[Goes back to reality]

Jordan: So why are you ringing me if I told you I was done?

Lauren: Well I wouldn't ring you if it wasn't important, we need the best on this job, and that is you.

[Flashback onto 4&5- Music comes on to create suspense]
Blank screen - with a voice over of the conversation

Lauren: Steven are you still their?

Jordan: [Silence] I cant go back, I'm done! [As he pulls the phone away]

[Phone cuts off]

[Title sequence comes on]

This was written by all of my group. We recorded it on a recorder mic so we can edit it so it will sound like a phone call rather than some normal speech. Overall it took my group 3 times to record it all to a standard we was happy with.
